Save The Knolls
T-shirt is Here!

In 2004 we all wore red shirts to the Board of Supervisors meeting where we successfully deterred a high density re-zoning attempt. In bright red, this t-shirt is a must-have for all Knolls residents— especially when we go to future county meetings about re-zoning issues this fall. You can purchase your shirt at Save The Knolls T-Shirt

Don't wait to the last minute, these shirts take two to three weeks to deliver! Of course, these t-shirts are not required attire, but they are cool!

Colton Lee Development Update

As you all know the Planning Commission meeting for January 31 was cancelled at the last minute. Based on input from the Community and the SKHA attorney the County decided that there is more work that they have to do on their end before this can be brought to a Planning Commission Meeting. The meeting will be likely rescheduled sometime in late March.

We WILL need everyone to attend the meeting when it is rescheduled. Stay tuned!!! We will keep you all informed.  Watch for emails and signs posted in the neighborhood.

We want to thank everyone for all of their support and promises to come to the meeting. We know people made plans to miss work to support the Knolls and we really appreciate that. It is amazing how the neighborhood has come together to protect our environment and quality of life here in the Knolls. THANK YOU ALL!

 Katherine Road ‘walk’ Update

When Supervisor Foy attended the HOA meeting in September he indicated that he wanted to do a walk of Katherine Road with concerned neighbors and the developer to review the impacts of the potential road widening. Brian Miller from Supervisor Foy’s office attended the HOA meeting on February 5th and the plan is to have the walk after the Planning Commission Meeting and before the Board of Supervisors Meeting. More info to come!!!!

 Special Thanks #1

The Susana Knolls would like to extend a special thank you to Ray DiZazzo- the man behind the Susana Knolls video!  Ray spent a lot of his own personal time creating, editing, and narrating this amazing video of our neighborhood. We also thank Sean DiZazzo for putting us in contact with Ray and for all the work he did during the interview process. More thanks go to those who were able to participate in the video interviews. Great job everyone!

Community Beautification Event

The Knolls Community Beautification Event (CBE) is scheduled for Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Susana Park (by the Depot). This event is sponsored by the county. The CBE allow us to get rid of trash, green waste, wood, electronic waste, and more. Toxic waste will not be accepted. Watch your US mail for a notice with additional information.

Waste Management – Contract Negotiations
are coming –

There is a public workshop that will be held in March to discuss the upcoming Waste Management contract. Thank you to those that replied with suggestions on possible changes for the Knolls services. We are moving forward with drafting a letter outlining concerns and suggestions and we will be attending the public meeting as well. As soon as we know the date we will let you know so those that are interested can attend.

Drive Safe!

At the February 5th HOA meeting we had a discussion on speeding cars in the Knolls. Please be careful about your speed and encourage your visitors to keep to the posted limits. Since our streets are winding and narrow, pedestrians—both human and animal— don’t always have anywhere to go. So please slow down and observe the posted limits. That extra minute saved by speeding just isn’t worth the risk.

Help us keep the Knolls Informed

The HOA does not have contact info for the majority of the neighborhood. It would be helpful if you would talk to your neighbors about sending us their email address so we can add them to our neighborhood list. We keep the list private (really!) and do not share the email addresses with anyone. We also only send out information about the neighborhood – no spam. If anyone wants to join the list and receive this newsletter and other information about the neighborhood have them send an email to SusanaKnollsHoa@roadrunner.com. or use the CONTACT US link on our website.
