Next HOA Meeting

The next HOA meeting will be the first Tuesday of April 2016, (4/5/16) at 7:00PM at the Depot (at Pass and Katherine Rds.))

SOAR – Save Open Space and Agricultural Resources

SOAR to Stop Traffic…… SOAR to Stop Sprawl……SOAR for Clean Air…… SOAR for Good Food………

SOAR is a series of voter initiatives that require a vote of the people before agricultural land or open space areas can be rezoned for development. It gives the people a vote in how development happens. It does NOT stop development, but rather gets more people involved resulting in better overall development. For more details go to: www.soarvc.org

Can you help??? We need help to gather signatures to make sure that this initiative gets on the November ballot. If we don’t get enough signatures then SOAR fails and Simi Valley could start looking like the San Fernando Valley. I don’t know ANYONE who wants that! Volunteering for even a couple of hours can make a difference. If you can help contact the HOA at susanaknollshoa@roadrunner.com

Even if you cannot help gather signatures please sign the initiative so we can get it on the November ballot. Look around the Knolls and Simi and think about it will look without SOAR when all the hills and open space are developed — another San Fernando Valley!!! We want smart development with voter approvals. Please make the effort to sign the petitions. There are SOAR volunteers out and about throughout the City asking for signatures. Don’t just walk by them – STOP and sign – it only takes a minute.

Knolls Beautification Event

Sponsored by Waste Management and Ventura County the annual Knolls Beautification Event will be on Saturday, May 7 at the Depot park. A notice will be sent out via US Mail specifying what items will be accepted.

Classified Ads

The Susana Knolls Newsletter will be accepting classified ads for publication starting with our April Newsletter. There is no cost to place the ad and ads can be for items for free, items for sale, or small local business ads. Keep in mind that the newsletter is published every other month when you send in your ads. Send your ads to susanaknollshoa@roadrunner.com. We will be doing this on a trial basis and may change ad submission guidelines once we see the ad types and demand.

What's happening at the old Nursery Property?

Many folks have been contacting the HOA asking what is going on at the old nursery property just over the railroad tracks in the City. Cabrillo Development is building a small Senior Apartment type complex. They have presented at the bimonthly HOA meeting several times in the past couple of years to keep us informed of the project. The HOA meetings are a great way to stay informed about what is going on in the neighborhood. The next meeting is April 5, 7:00PM at the Depot.

Help us keep the Knolls Informed

Help us reach everyone in the neighborhood. Talk to your neighbors about sending us their email address so we can add them to our neighborhood list. We keep the list private (really!) and do not share the email addresses with anyone. We also only send out information about the neighborhood only—no spam. To join the list and receive this newsletter and other information about the neighborhood have your neighbors send an email to SusanaKnollsHoa@roadrunner.com
